TIPPING
Tipping is a long-standing tradition on Mount Kilimanjaro and an important way to recognize the hard work and dedication of the mountain crew. From carrying equipment and preparing meals to ensuring your safety and comfort throughout the climb, every crew member plays a valuable role in your success on the mountain.
At Genes Adventures, we believe in fair treatment of our mountain crew. All crew members receive proper wages in accordance with responsible porter welfare standards. Tips are therefore not intended to replace salaries, but rather to reward exceptional service, hard work, and dedication during your climb.
At the end of the trek, tips are collected and distributed during a crew tipping ceremony before leaving the mountain. This ensures that all crew members receive their tips fairly and transparently.
