
Udzungwa Mountains National Park is a true haven for hikers, botanists and nature lovers. Often referred to as the “Galapagos of Africa,” the park is renowned for its extraordinary biodiversity and high number of endemic plant and animal species found nowhere else on Earth.
Unlike most Tanzanian parks, Udzungwa is all about exploration on foot. Well-marked rainforest trails lead through lush vegetation to cascading waterfalls, panoramic viewpoints and cool mountain forests.

best time to visit
The best months to visit are June to October, when trails are dry and hiking is easier.
The rainy season (March to May) brings lush vegetation but can make trails slippery.
