Mikumi National Park

Mikumi National Park is one of the most accessible national parks in southern Tanzania, making it ideal for travelers short on time or combining multiple southern parks.

Its wide, open plains and distant mountain backdrops have earned it comparisons to the Serengeti.

The park offers excellent game viewing, with regular sightings of lions, elephants, giraffes, zebras and buffalo, all without the heavy crowds found in northern safari hotspots.

Easy to reach yet wonderfully rewarding, Mikumi is a fantastic addition to southern safari circuits and a great introduction to Tanzania’s rich wildlife.
