Lake Manyara National Park

Lake Manyara National Park may be compact in size, but it offers an impressive diversity of landscapes and wildlife.

Nestled at the base of the Great Rift Valley escarpment, the park combines lush groundwater forests, open savannahs and the shimmering shores of Lake Manyara.

The park is best known for its rare tree-climbing lions, large troops of baboons and vast flocks of flamingos that gather along the lake’s edge.

Lake Manyara can be visited year-round.

 

The dry season (June to October) is best for spotting large mammals.

 

The wet season (November to May) transforms the park into a lush paradise and is ideal for birdwatching, with thousands of flamingos present.
